Iron Infusions for Cancer Patients
This session focuses on understanding how doxorubicin can cause cardiomyopathy, especially through the role of mitochondrial iron, and how iron affects heart failure and cancer outcomes. It also covers how to identify and treat iron deficiency or iron-deficiency anemia in GI cancer patients, with attention to safely restoring iron levels while avoiding cardiac complications.
